Abilene Motor Express started with a single tractor and a whole lot of heart. Back in 1986, in a small town in south-central Virginia, brothers Keith and Kolen Jones laid the foundation for what would become one of the most trusted names in long-haul trucking. Built on hard work, grit, and a commitment to doing things right, Abilene has grown into a nationwide carrier headquartered in Richmond, Virginia — now operating nearly 400 late-model tractors across the continental United States.

From day one, our mission has been simple: deliver freight with speed, reliability, and care. Over the years, we’ve expanded our services to meet the evolving needs of our customers — offering expedited and time-definite delivery, regional operations, Dedicated Contract Carriage, and Single Source Transportation Solutions for dry commodities.
